Welcome!
My name is Ebony, and I am a writer by heart. I've been writing for a long time, although not very consistently. Life has it's ways of getting in the way. I know that some people might say things along the lines of "Well, you're just a procrastinator!"
They're right, I do procrastinate.
But I'm okay with that, and I think that's all that really matters in this world. Being happy with what you are, and where you're at. At some point in the future, you are going to die. For most of us non-famous people, we are going to die without leaving too much of a mark on human history. For some of us, there may not even be a memorial or a tombstone to mark our existence. Quite a lot of the human race is obsessed with this idea that they have to leave some kind of trail that leads back to them, like children or an invention. They feel like it makes their life, their existence, more important somehow. If that's what makes them happy, then so be it. However, here is my personal opinion on the matter:
We are humans. We are going to either die of natural causes or destroy each other, as we are programmed to do. Even if we somehow managed to create a Utopian society where all was fair and equal, that still doesn't solve the problem with aging or the problem of our dying planet. At any given time, a meteor could come crashing into the Earth, the Sun could send a solar flare our way, or a black hole could suddenly appear right next to us or something else that's beyond all our ways of thinking. Regardless of what it is, at any point in time, everything we've done as a human species could be wiped out in a matter of seconds, and nothing that anyone has done will matter. Not Micheal Jackson, not Martin Luther King, not the Nazis, not Trump, nothing. Nothing will matter, because it'll all be over. So why focus on future people and things that you may never come into contact with? Rather, focus on attaining inner peace, happiness, and awareness. Focus on enjoying the little bit of time that you have here on this Earth before it's gone. I don't know what's next after this level of consciousness, nor do I know what came before it. But what I know is that there is a here, and there is a now, and I think that if we could all learn to live in it, then we could maybe achieve that utopia one day. How are we to make others understand us, when we do not fully understand ourselves?
Now, all of that heavy stuff aside, I'm actually quite an easy going person. I have many hobbies, so many in fact that I can't fit them all into one day. I've been told that I'm very personable, kind, and understanding. I'm no saint by any means, I have just as many issues if not more than everybody else. However, I'm not going to use these setbacks as excuses to not do what needs to be done or what makes me happy.
Writing has always been an outlet for me. I've found it be very relaxing, it helps me to get my thoughts out of my head and in form that I can understand. I'm very imaginative and at many times, a little too childish. My mother says that while most of the time I'm very serious and responsible, about 5% of the time, I'm "a big 6-year-old." Thus, I see things from various angles, and sometimes in a very silly fashion.
As far as writing actually goes, I used to do it very often, but then there's work and stuff. So, here's a quick break down of what I write, and how I write it.
Yaoi and romance go hand in hand with me, with a lot of smut along the way.
Heterosexual romance and adventure, because if not for love, then what for?
Horror. Just plain horror.
I could go into much deeper details about these things, but it would much easier if I just showed you. So, take your pick from some of my stories, and tell me what you like. I know that obviously, some of them are fairly old, and others are unfinished. Just bear with me, and stick around. Rome wasn't built in a day, it was built in an hour!!! JK
