    A little about me

Name: Rayos (pronounced rey-os because I didn't have a solid grasp of phonetics when I came up with the name)

    Age: 18

    Interests:

Reading Books-I didn't start reading until 2nd grade, not because I couldn't, but because I thought it was boring. But when I did, I found out how wrong I was, out-reading everyone in my school, even the 8th graders. Reading was my main drug of choice especially after I got into non-fiction (specifically some 60 year old Times Magazine books featuring subjects like matter, energy, light and vision, and sound and hearing). This sparked a drive to read up on all kinds of things about the natural world, which would lead to me having a ridiculously high level of knowledge for someone my age. Nowadays, most of what I do on a day to day basis is read (thank whatever gods there are for fanfiction.net), mostly to improve my writing skills, perspective on life, and for enjoyment.

Writing-I've been writing since 1st grade, to be honest. I seemed to have always had an afinity for the written word. Later on, I would get into more fictive writing, mostly a series of books that where mashups of the various anime I'd seen. Eventually, though, I started to get into more original works, the first of which starting off as a writing assignment before becoming a story of its own. Since then, I've come up with at least six story ideas which are in the works, with a few others still on the drawing boards. However, recently, I've developed quite the problem in regards to actually writing my novels, instead choosing to procrastinate by endlessly researching anything pertaining to them in a futile attempt to make them perfect by becoming an expert in anything and everything that has even the slightest bearings on my novels. I've been trying to fix this by writing outlines to help flesh out my ideas and its been working very well but it can still be a struggle at times.

Typology-I got into typology in the middle of my 7th grade year, during a bit of a dark time in my life (read: teenage angst). Anyway, it helped to bring me out of that by giving me something to think about that I would be understanding anytime soon, a different perspective to look at others which didn't involve me being better than them, and made me markedly more self-aware than I was previously. While I focus most of my time on the Jungian Cognitive Functions and the Enneagram of Personality, I have given some consideration to other typologies such as Socionics. I do this mainly because it's fun to try and understand something as convoluted as the human psyche and also because it really helps me flesh out and get into the heads of the characters of my novels. My typings in the various typologies are below.

    MBTI: INTJ Socionics: INTp Enneagram: 5w6 1w9 3w2 sp/sx

Language-The first time I studied language was in grade school and, like most American students, I was learning Spanish. It wasn't exactly the best way to teach people a language and I barely learned anything. It wouldn't be until my first year in high school that I would actually begin to learn a language other than my native one. Knowing that I'd be learning Spanish (a large number of the students at my school were Hispanic and thus knew Spanish), I decided to research the language and see what I could find about it. It was while doing that that I got the crazy idea into my head that I could also learn Japanese. It's been almost a year now since I started learning the languages and, for someone who's been doing it for as little as I have, I'm not half bad (and way better that I was as a kid; it took me, like, nine years to get English down).
