Hello,
I’m Tania Mace and I’m a fanfiction addict :P.
Well, I’m not actually. Tania Mace is just an anagram of my real name, but I like it so much so that if I were to ever consider changing my name – like going into witness protection or something, not that we have witness protection where I’m from – I would definitely love to be called such.
Anyway I’m a twenty something (with a lot more ‘something’ next to the ‘twenty’ than I care to admit to) part-time student (can’t seem to leave school behind no matter what I do or how old I get) who being unemployed (unfortunately) has a lot of free time (fortunately) on her hands to indulge said addiction.
So I read – God, do I read; I don’t think I’ve read this much in all my school years put together – and then read some more and when I don’t find something new to get caught up in reading (and that tends to happen more frequently than you would think because I have this thing about not reading WIPs; a thing that I usually forget about if the summary is catching enough and the first few chapters written well – a decision I usually curse once I get hooked and I have to wait what seems like eons for a new chapter) I try my hand at writing.
I’m not saying I’m any good at it, though after reading – or better yet trying to read; my nerves tend to give up eventually – one to many badly written fanfictions, I can almost start seeing my pitiful tries at writing as bestsellers in the works, but I am trying to do better.
At this time there will be no story posting from me, but as soon as I have something finished (like the 'Harry Potter', Severus/Hermione, novel length fanfiction I'm working on) I'll be sure to let you read it ASAP...
Okay, so that’s all I can think to tell you about myself so let’s go on to what I like to read and write when it comes to fanfictions…
What first attracted me to the wonderful world of fanfictions was (I’m almost ashamed to admit it now) ‘The Twilight Saga’. The fact was that I found the series so disappointing that I started to look for stories that made it sound better – I wasn’t about to just give up, because no matter how I perceived the books (especially the second and forth, which I hated) I’ve been in love with vampires since forever (long before they became this stupid sparkling pop icon). So I looked and looked, stumbling from one awful story to another, until, just as I was giving the whole thing up as a bad idea, I found it – the story that made ‘Twilight’ worth it (sorry don’t remember the title, author, or even that much of the plot – it was basically a rewriting of the series). From there on, it was just a matter of typing, clicking and google-ing before I found my one true addiction: ‘Harry Potter’ fanfictions.
Now a days, ‘Twilight’ is basically of thing of the past, though I like to check out what new stories are out there from time to time; mostly with Bella/Carlisle or Bella/Jasper as main parings. ‘Harry Potter’… Well, that was, is and it will always be my one love in the world of fanfiction. As for parings I don’t really do canon here either (or anywhere for that matter) so I just go with Severus/Hermione, Harry/Hermione, Harry/Draco and if possible a delicious sandwich of Severus/Hermione/Lucius or Severus/Hermione/Remus. Other fanfictions I like to read tend to be those based on ‘Stargate SG1’, ‘NCSI’, ‘CSI New York’, ‘Gilmore Girls’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’.
So that’s reading, because when writing I only stick with one fandom and one paring: ‘Harry Potter’ and Severus/Hermione.
THE END...
