Hello there, call me River. I came from Fanfiction.net and decided to begin posting my stories here, because I really don't know what is 'child friendly'. Being mature for my age, growing up, I was reading what would be considered MA (romance novels) by the time I was fifteen.
Age: 22
Gender: Female
When confronted by those characters who despise me for loving them paired with one another: Does this smell like Chloroform to you? -muffled threats, before bishie is down- Don't worry love, there are plenty of cookies where I am taking you.
Anime: Bleach, Naruto, Inuyasha, and a whole lots of others.
Manga: Pretty much the same as above...gotta keep up with the manga!
Games: Final fantasy, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Fable, all those sorts.
Music: Alternative mostly, but I like to listen to a bit of everything, exception of country. Ten years of nonstop radio will do that to a poor girl.
Interests: Manga, games, art, music, anime, role playing, writing but writer's block happens to everyone.
Stories: Will post them when I can.
Dear Bishonen whom I love, Why are you still harping and monologuing to your respective enemy? Eventually you will fight and in most cases, be defeated at one point or another, or worse, you die. Please do me a favor, recruit me and the millions of fangirls that you have, to do your bidding. We are easy to please and will do what you ask. If you want the enemy's head on a platter? What kind, when, where, and would you like the brain still alive? Want him/her to suffer? No problem, but I forewarn you, sleeping is not safe near us and you will have to occasionally put us back in line, for we may kill the others to get closer to you.
My specific skills are infiltration, disguise, creative thinking, plotting, random knowledge that is useful, a strong determination to get what I want done, slight insanity, and code of honor that prevents betrayal. However, if you fight another Bishi that I love, I must stand aside and sit on my hands while praying for a stalemate...Sorry, but I am kinda shallow on that one. I also warn you, if you give me the opportunity, after I rid myself of the competition, if you let your guard down, you are in my closet or on my bed...period.
Signed, Your Fangirl.
Questions:
What do you like in a story? Plot is a key factor, but even if there is not really any (seen in crack fictions and such), if it is interesting by my standards, bring it! Keep it entertaining, not too sap, too violent, too descriptive or too vague. My Favorite list should open up a bit more of what I like.
Humor comes in a close second. I don't mean the kind you would find in Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, or SpongeBob Squarepants...I like the kind you would see in Mel Brooks movies, perhaps some British comedy (Eddie Izzard and Russel Brand are two of my fave comedians of Britain) and there is always Schadenfreude. Sometimes the ridiculous is great, but not so much the character survives a, at ground zero, nuclear explosion after a series of unfortunate events.
Romance is great, but I can not stand uber sap, Twilight (movie version) and EXTREME FLUFF kinda turn my direction to the nearest dentist, I have cavities now. I am not just a hetero reader/watcher of any art (writing/drawing/television/etc.) I like love in all forms. However, my stories are not limited to just romance...
Wit is a must. If you can get me to remember lines from your stories years from now you did good. I use wit in a lot of my work, hopefully you get it, if not, I tried. Now wit is personal opinion. Corny jokes such as: What did the green grape say to the purple grape? "Breathe man!" are hilarious if you execute them right. Oh and if you can make a good pun, I love you.
Style and Flow. Style varies as well as flow. I am not particular about how I like my stories to unfold.
Archtype/Catagory: Be it Action to Supernatrual, I like all of them. I do prefer a good Supernatrual Romance and the Adventure Humor, but those are not my limits...I like to try anything (almost) once.
Spelling and Grammar: I am not a nazi at this stuff, but if every other word looks like this: yuo shuld git a spel cheker. Grammar. Well I am not a specialist in the field of that sort of thing, but I do not like this stuff: whereyoucanbarelyreadit, or hey yo I heard you two were at the game...(fyi three people are talking). If I can't tell who the hell is saying what, and I have been slightly guilty about this, it kinda puts me out. Two people talking is fine as long as it is direct questions...I also can't stand when you don't use quotation marks to separate actions from speech: I am going to kill you, (insert name) yelled as he held his blade up and then I will laugh as stomp on your corpse. Yeah scary, but lack of "marks" kill the spook factor.
If I could change something about a world that my favorite character lived in, would I? Unfortunately no. While meddling may or may not save the character(s) that I want to, messing with time lines can be catastrophic. See end chapter of Careful What You Wish For.
Would I want to date a character? Yes and no. While the chance to spend time with them and do what I want would be very tempting, characters usually do not go beyond the information the creator gave them to 'live with' even when you have OOC 'cannon' characters, it is creative licence and our minds as writers that make it possible. If they were cannon, no. There are times where I want to beat the crap out of the character, and other times where I know they would kill me for looking at them. If they were tweaked to 'my perfection', hell no. Perfection is unobtainable and I would eventually tire from the exhaustion of everything being my way. If they were like regular people, sure why not, perhaps we would make a good couple.
