About The Author: I’m a 23 year old military wife. Since my husband is on a naval ship for most of the year, I find interesting (and often bizarre) ways to entertain myself. We have two furry four legged “children” in the form of our cats – Midnight who is barely 4lbs and an albino and Mouse who tips the scales at 20lbs and is a gray tiger… hard to believe they are litter mates! I work full time and am working on my advanced degree. If all goes well I’ll be able to put “Ph. D” after my name soon, and ya’ll will have to call me “doctor.” I’m very excited about that! I have varied tastes in fiction. I’m a huge fan of the TV shows Bones and Leverage. I enjoy Twilight and the Lord of the Rings. I used to be a fan of Harry Potter but did not like the ending to the series. I think the 4th book (The Goblet of Fire) was the last “good” book of the series. I try to keep my characters as close to the author’s original ideas as possible. Their main personality traits will be very cannon. I may take liberties with their histories and ages but try to avoid any major “out of character-ness.” I’ve never been a fan of the “trading” that some authors use (such as not posting another chapter until a certain number of reviews are left). I write my fiction for me, it’s a good way to relax and let my hair down after a long day at work and class. I do, however, like to read that people are enjoying my stories and am open to constructive criticisms. Do you like it? Do you hate it? Do you think I need to change anything? TELL ME!! While reviews are not required and I will continue to post my works as I finish them, reviews do feed the soul (and the muse) and will always be appreciated. About My Stories: Due to my hectic schedule (work full time AND working on my doctorate degree AND the responsibilities that come from being married to the military) my writing always has taken the “back burner” in my life. There may be weeks (or even months) between updates as I simply cannot find 5 minutes to sit down and start typing. Due to this I try very hard to not post a story that isn’t partially written and at least fully planned out. But I still ask that you please be patient with me. I promise I haven’t forgotten you. Many of my stories are crossovers. I find a thrill in taking two completely different fictional universes and trying to combine them while still staying true to the original works. I always try to keep the characters personalities in line with the original universe but often place them in very different situations with unique upbringings. I have listed the ways that I most often go against the cannon. I understand that some of the “hard core purists” may not agree with this approach and that is why I would like take the time to explain the differences up front. In Regards to Twilight: I hate New Moon! I hate how Jacob imprinted on Renesmee! I HATE THE IDEA THAT VAMPIRES CAN HAVE KIDS!! There, I’ve said it. (Phew, I feel better now…) Renesmee doesn’t exist. Renesmee never will exist! Vampires CANNOT have babies! End of story, I will not budge on this. I’m not a very big fan of the Quileute tribe. I very rarely place them in my stories and when I do it is most often in passing. I find them to be extremely egotistical, immature, and closed minded with a large superiority complex and the rational adult in me cannot handle those traits (even if Jacob is only 16 in the books). I just plain do not like him. I also change Jasper’s physical appearance for many of my stories. I am a fan of having him look more like Jackson Rathbone does in real life instead of his vampire persona. He will (most often) have straight brown hair and a hint of a beard. I think this makes him appear older and since Jasper Whitlock was lying about his age in the army, I believe that he would take all the measures he could to make himself appear older as well. The picture that I am using for reference can be found here: http://twilightpoison.com/gallery/albums/jackson_photoshoots/normal_n1tfro.jpg. When I have the pleasure of being able to create my own characters, not all my vampires have gifts. I believe the concept of a vampire having a supernatural ability is rather rare and while I may “bless” a few of my changelings with a talent not all will have one. I don’t like the typical blood lust phase that vampires go through. They will be changed with red eyes but I like the idea that they are able to control their thirst with more ease. It will still be hard for them, especially for vampires like Jasper who are so used to feeding from humans, but they are not going to be crazy or unable to control themselves when they are changed. I will often give my vampires the ability to cry. I see the venom as the equivalent to human blood/saliva/tears all rolled into one. Vampires can cry their venom, they can sweat their venom, they can bleed their venom, and it is their saliva and their ejaculate. It’s the “all in one” bodily fluid. In Regards to Harry Potter: The last book I read was The Order of the Phoenix and the last book I enjoyed was The Goblet of Fire. Yes, you read correctly, I haven’t actually read books 6 or 7 yet (with the exception of the epilogue in book 7). I hated the epilogue and am not sure if I want to finish the series knowing that JKR (in my own humble opinion) curtailed to the expectations of the readers by pairing up her characters the way she did. I also don’t like how she killed off so many characters in book 7. There was really no point (again, just my humble opinion) to causing so many to die. Yes, I will write in that both sides have suffered some casualties but I will decide who they are. In Regards to Bones: I tend to mix all my seasons up and rarely follow the time line that the show gives. My biggest diversion is I will never allow Zack to go crazy. Season three does occur with the exception of The Pain in the Heart. I do like the entire “Gormogon” plot line but I do not like how Hansen and Reich made Zack the apprentice and write him out of the show. My Zack will never go crazy. I’m also a sucker for relationships and will usually try to write Bones into one. I try to keep her true to herself (socially awkward, very blunt, and completely without tact) but she does feel infatuation, desire, and love (even though she may not always understand what she is feeling). LASTLY, ACCREDIDATIONS: As most fan fiction authors, I am also an avid FF reader. I take influence from almost all of the stories that I read. Mostly it is small details that I like and they stick with me. Sometimes I borrow larger aspects. In the case of my larger influences I really do try to give credit when it is due, however, I don’t always remember exactly where I have come by these details. If you see a part of my story that is extremely familiar with a work of your own, please let me know and I will gladly credit you. Some of the authors that I am a HUGE fan of (and will most like reference) are LolaShoes, MsFigg, Jayliewood, HopelessRomantic, mygoldeneyedangel, Inthemadhouse, dressagegrrrl, wendynat, ramos, witch lisaand several others. Thank you for taking your time to read my long (and probably rambling and boring) note. I hope you enjoy the stories. (signed) The Flamingo
