    "[f]anfiction is a way of the culture repairing the damage done in a system where contemporary myths are owned by corporations instead of owned by folk." from Textual Poachers by Henry Jenkins I draw deeply on stories, books, music, movies, and ideas to find inspiration for my life and my writing. Fanfiction and I have had a long relationship; we are old friends. We were introduced when I was sixteen, starting with general-audience Jane Austen fanfic. Today I still go in for the Austen fanfic, but prefer something far more adult and complex. (The difference between grape drink and a dark red wine.) I've recently become consumed with some very good stories involving Severus Snape and Hermione Granger. I like authors who allow their characters to act very much like themselves. I like a story that concentrates on building interesting situations for sexual tension. I'm fine with mucking up the canon (especially in regards to Snape). Please muck all you wish! I'm also determined to do more reviews because these authors work hard for the enjoyment of others. Currently working on: a Sense and Sensibility fic. Inspired by the Andrew Davies adaptation, but all about Colonel Brandon.
