I guess since I became a member of this site I should at least tell you a little bit about myself. I'm a fanfic writer for Kim Possible, and I support a number of pairings, including Kim/Ron, Kim/Shego, Ron/Shego, and even all three in a menage a trois. I first heard about AFFN through fanfiction.net, where a majority of my work is posted.
I joined this site so that I could publish the work that would get me kicked off at fanfiction.net. I also decided to write adult fanfiction because a majority of it is just so godawful I can't stand reading it. From porno dialogue to OOC behavior, the raping of canon that goes on in this place annoys me to no end. Finally I got fed up and decided to show you all how it's done (to the handful of good adult fanfic writers out there, I'm sure your reasons were similar). The feeling that "I can write better than that," was what drove me to write fanfiction in the first place. I despise PWP, and I try to make my lemons believable. I don't write this to get off, or even to stand on some sort of soapbox, I write it because I love the characters and want to explore how they would react to adult situations. Any hotness that results is just a byproduct of actual creative effort.
To help those aspiring writers on this site, I've come up with a list of helpful hints and tips for writing adult literature. Keep these in mind, and you'll write much better, I guarantee it. To those of you who already practice these, more power to you.
1. KEEP THE CHARACTERS IN-CHARACTER. I cannot stress this enough. The biggest turn-off for me, especially when I'm reading a KP fic, is when I see Ron, Drakken, or any of the other men on the show as the dominant partner. This goes against the very principle of the series. The women are the real heroes of the KP-verse, and thus they are the dominant ones. Keep this in mind if you don't want your story to seem totally OOC.
2. Don't use porno-dialogue. This goes hand in hand with the first rule. Adult fanfiction to me is taking the same characters and putting them in adult situations. They're going to say different things due to the situation, sure, but the way they talk should remain intact. Kim and Shego like to banter, and overall their conversations are hilariously superficial given the very mortal danger of the situations in which they often find themselves. Ron tends to be very nervous in high-stress situations, and isn't going to be spouting off cliches like, "Here comes the Ron Express." He's far more likely to babble nervously as KP has her way with him.
3. Strive for believability. Give us some backstory. Set up the scene. Give us CONTEXT, for God's sake. Don't just drop the characters in a sexual fantasy because you think it would be hot. Write it as though it could theoretically happen. Plausibility is what separates a mediocre story from one you want to read over and over again.
4. Don't go straight for the G-spot. It applies in real life, it applies in adult literature. Build the anticipation. Make your audience want it as much as the characters. Describe every single action and imbue it with a touch of sensuality. Start with the foreplay. Some light touching, a little kissing. Gradually increase the passion of the kisses, develop the touching into full-blown caressing. Make it sexy. Have them remove the clothes slowly. Don't have them go at it just yet. More stroking, more kissing. Build the tension up to mountainous peaks. Then, when your audience can barely stand it anymore, that's when you go for the actual intercourse. It's all about how much you can keep the audience in suspense.
5. Sensuality means more than just hotness. Describe how it feels to the characters, what they see, hear, taste, feel, and smell. Don't merely catalogue the events; detail them. Show how the characters respond. My favorite adult stories are the ones that don't focus on the nitty gritty mechanics, but rather imply them. Have the woman arch her back, moan softly when her breast is squeezed, have her cry out when the sudden intrusion is too much to take, only to give into the feeling and take the pleasure with the pain. Describe how it feels in their MINDS, not just their bodies.
6. For those of you who struggle with writing the female end of things, here are some very valuable lessons I've learned by consulting with actual lesbians, who know pretty much all there is to know about pleasing women:
-For those of you who don't know what the clitoris is, it's basically the female cock, only smaller and with more concentrated nerve endings. It branches down along the lips of the vagina and is covered by a hood, from which it emerges when the woman is aroused. It's not like foreskin, though, so they can't "feel" it like men can. It also doesn't typically poke out of the vagina itself; you have to dig for it.
-That ever-elusive G-spot is located about three inches into the vagina. If you want to find it, just insert your fingers into the vagina, palm up, and make a "come hither" motion; it will typically make her come hither pretty hard. You'll notice that the tissue there feels different from the rest of the vagina; that's the G-spot. That's also why it's so damn hard to get at by simple penetration: you'd have to bend your dick backwards to reach it. That's why manual and oral sex are so important. Finger and eat out your woman more often and she may be inclined to give you a hand/blowjob once in a while.
-Women can, I'm told, feel themselves getting wet as easily as we can feel our mouths water, so they don't typically need to "test the waters." They usually only stick their fingers down there to see how wet they are.
-It's not all in the nipple. It does bring erotic stimulation, yes, but don't focus there. Sometimes it can be as simple as cupping the breast gently in your hand. Also, don't try too hard to find all the right erogenous zones; any touch is erogenous. As long as it's skin-on-skin, it yields pleasure. Of course, everyone is different, so it's a good idea to experiment to discover what your partner likes.
-Everyone comes differently. Some women can only get off on penetration, others through clitoral stimulation, and still others get their kick out of anal. Some can do all three. It all depends on the woman.
-A note about oral sex: to fully penetrate the vagina with one's tongue, it's not wise to go in from the front; that's only advisable when you're just sucking off the woman's clit. Instead have her bend over doggy style and eat her out from behind. Yes, your nose will probably end up in her ass, but with the way most women maintain themselves down there, it probably won't be so gross. That's why it's a lot easier to give a rim job to a woman than a man. Plus, it offers you an opportunity to shift into a full-on 69 position.
Anyway, hope you enjoy my work. You can read my non-mature work by following my homepage link to my fanfiction.net profile.
