One of the first stories I've read on this archive. Thus it's a bit difficult to recall what exactly I liked about Heart of Stone... for sure it was the unique male protagonist - a gargoyle. The heroine is almost the opposite of what I prefer in my female protagonists, but it worked for me.

If you like a very unusual and unconventional pairing, a girl that's somewhat easy to push over and a likeable strong yet somewhat archaic male lead then this is for you. Oh and it has gargoyle tail kink... yep my eyes went round too.

Pretty thrilling story telling with almost no "boring" moment, a tough heroine who takes on the world with pragmatism; yet still human in her illusions and desillusions, we all need those to stay sane sometimes.

If you can stand gore, violence in the mileu of the middle ages (which means things such as rape is considered "normal" to some of the characters), moresomes, tissue moments and questionable romantic feelings for questionable personalities (includes tangled emotions and situations that will likely make you go "you stupid girl you're supposed to make your stand not go all gooey-eyed!"), give this a try! Best adult dark fantasy romance I've read in a while.
