    Six years ago, Moira-Rose went through the stones, discovering love, friendship, and family. Fergus was her first kiss, and her first love. She gives him up, making him agree to court Marsali before she leaves for what he thinks is France. Now, she finds herself utterly alone and in an abusive relationship with no escape. While visiting North Carolina with her abuser, she discovers a ring of stones and flees through them. But in 1772 she discovers Fergus and Marsali living happily and promises herself she won't come between them. Unfortunately, love doesn't always listen to reason.
