Sage-Of-Ages is my pen name, taken for my affection of Jiraiya of Naruto Manga fame.

A sage often has powers based on insight, retrospection, and experience.

As I am likely quite older than the average audience of some fan-fics it strikes me as ironic that I enjoy things which many of my own generation and my parents' generation would call adolescent.   But that's what makes us humans so interesting, we have many diverse beliefs and feelings so that no two people are identical to the core.

As a child I enjoyed what simple fare was available on the boob-tube as it was often called in those days.   Cartoons of simple characters and animation with simple storylines and characters who were mostly single dimension.   As my life advanced, so did the fare being offered on the boob tube, and when I was in my teens I discovered the likes of Dr Who and other British imports to late night PBS stations.   Characters became more complex and stories varied from simple to complex with many more dimensions to them both.

I found too along this time the books my sister read, romance novels, and wondered how the female gender differed in thought as well as physical body.  I often secretly borrowed her books to read the seedier chapters to feed my developing labido.   Over time I found early anime of interest, because back then it was a much broader approach that authors experimented with the media.   Today though there is far more content I feel much of the available anime falls into too narrow confines of predictability.  Often either too simplistic or too dark for healthy mental faculties.   There are examples which fall between these two extremes which I do enjoy, Bleach, Cowboy Be Bopp, and Naruto.   Each in it's own way has failings and strengths, but as overall mental stimulation they are reasonable.

My neices' turned me on to some of the more recent youth directed media, like the Harry Potter series, but I rejected others like the Twilight Saga.  I just could not take the step to making Vampires and Warewolfs something to epitomize or sanction as "good" rather I leave them in their place as things to be pitied for losing humanity in favor of beastial and bloody natures.  Witches and Wizards on the other hand as a group still maintain much of their humanity and what vileness some possess comes from the darker natures of our own psyches.   Storylines dealing with angels and demons where the deamons are more rather humans gone to their baser nature than other-worldly things I find plausible from my own upbringing in a Christian environment.   Demons as fallen angels are much more believable than races of corrupt things from the start.   The one exception I allow in my favorite readings are those of Tolkien.  His Orcs & Elves and other folk are at times vile and fallen but the evilness is from choice.

As a human being I do not reject emotions of any kind and even of our own carnal natures.  Any rational person can fantasize and dream and create in their mind images and scenes which affect them physically.   To remain chaste in all things I think for humans is impossible.  Somewhere, sometime, we all break that chastity either for real or in out minds.   Personally I find fantasies of the mind leading to physical manifestations a normal release of the mind and not unhealthy.   Thus adult oriented content isn't taboo to me, though I do think it's place shouldn't be constant.  However, I don't believe adult content should be of a dark nature bias because that lends the mind to paths which are not healthy if followed to often or too long.  Real life is enough of a struggle at times that we as voyers of fictions shouldn't make it worse by letting violence rule the thoughts of our minds too often.

In whatever I may write here for stories these things are part of my background.    I hope you enjoy some of what I write and do not mind commentary whatsoever.
