I highly recommend it to any serious writer locating this out-of-print book, "Creative Writing-For Advanced College Courses", by George Guion Williams- first edition 1935. He was a Houston Rice Uni. professor who died in 2000. I've only read 40 pages of 400ish so far and the man was

    BRILLIANT. This is a text book (with exercises) which reads smoothly, almost as witty as a novel. I googled it and located a few on Amazon, Abebooks and Albiris averaging $15. It will pay you back immediately. It is priceless. When they ask me who I'd wish to have dinner with: George Guion Williams will be number one on my list. AS OF 9/15/11:
